Brand: The Eclectic Garden
The Eclectic Garden is a Jewelry brand started by a multi talented woman named Theresa “Teri” Simpson. She created Eclectic Garden in 2011. Her materials mostly came from Santa Fe, New Mexico and they are called African Trade Beads. Her signature style is her hand knotted macrame beads.
I was approached by her to create her entire branding from logo down to art direction of her jewelry photography. This project was the beginning of my love for branding, especially for small businesses.
Left to right: Logo Sketches to chosen logo, jewelry stamp & color explorations.
We decided to go with two main treatments of the final logo: Full color version (left) for full color applications & One color version of the logo that is treated with stamp textures (right) for limited color applications.
From there, I created Eclectic Garden’s main look for their business card.
She wrapped all of her jewelries carefully in a small soft burlap bag. That inspired me to create a textural mix between watercolor and burlap.

“We did not grow up with lots of new things. What we did have were well-built, solid pieces that are still with the family today. Everything was lived in and used but well taken care of. The older pieces get, the better they get because they are well made. I truly believe pieces are well made because each piece of the item is touched, studied, cared for and formed by hands and a mind and heart that appreciate the beauty in the piece.”

Along with branding…
I also helped her art direct and photograph some of her highlight pieces from her 2011 collection.
