Pokémon World Championships 2019

Pokémon World Championships is a yearly event for the best players from all over the world will compete for the title of Pokémon TCG, Video Game, or Pokkén Tournament World Champion. I had the privilege to work with a team of talented designers to create the Look & Feel for 2019 World Championships held in Washington D.C. We had an array of products we needed to create for the whole event as well as supplying Style Guide to go to the external vendors. I was responsible for the creation of the exclusive backpack that was given to the competitors along with t-shirt design across the entire event.

I have created the Modular Pattern Design that is used as the main pattern across the entire merchandise for Pokémon World Championships 2019.

I have also created the frame illustrations as a holding shape for Pokémon created by GameFreak specific for the 2019 World Championship Event.

I was heavily inspired by the idea of way-finding & beautiful frames you can find in Museums all around Washington D.C.

My other task was to create cohesive look for the different branches of event shirts without applying the same graphics over and over.

My solution is to reformat the modular pattern I’ve created to work for 4 different shirt categories: Competitor (Pikachu), Staff (Eevee), Translator (Braixen) and Retail (All).
